Flash can look good.. if it's a good camera. And if there's a good amount of ambient light to begin with. Otherwise, go natural! Just be sure to use lots of light sources.

Depends on your camera settings. Most of mine are taken with flash and look just fine. I would agree that more artistic effects can be had with natural lighting.
